Do I need to order and buy Turbo Tax 2023 or can I just build onto the 2022 tax return I have on my computer.

Each tax year is a separate TurboTax program.  You will need to purchase the 2023 TurboTax program to complete a 2023 tax return - https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/cd-download/

You would need to order and buy TurboTax 2023 to do your 2023 return.  The tax laws change every year, so you cannot just build on your 2022 program.

No you cannot use 2022 software to prepare a 2023 tax return.  Each year has its own software that complies with the tax laws for the specific tax year and which has the forms for the specific tax year.   Get a 2023 program.  You can transfer the 2022 tax file in when you start the 2023 return so that you do not have to enter all of your personal information again.
