The TurboTax desktop editions store the tax data files and any saved PDF's, by default, in the TurboTax folder in your Documents directory. If there are no tax data files in the TurboTax folder there will not be any prior year files shown for Transfer.
Look in the TurboTax folder. If no tax data files for 2021 exist then you will have to search for the files on all your drives, internal and external. Search for files that have a file extension of .tax2021
IMPORT is the incorrect term ... the prior year info can be transferred but the information must be on your hard drive for the downloaded program to find the .tax2021 file. When the online program is available sometime in early December you must log into the same account you used for the 2021 return for the transfer to happen OR the .tax2021 file must be on your computer.
Here are the transfer instructions ... they may not have been updated for 2022 yet but the directions are the same for all tax years ...

How to transfer last year’s return? https://ttlc.intuit.com/questions/1900883
What prior year selection screen? Where in the program? Can you post a screen shot? How did you do 2021 last year? Did you use Turbo Tax? If you used the Online program we can tell you how to transfer from Online into the Desktop program.
If TurboTax didn't find your 2021 tax return, click the Browse button at the bottom left of the screen and browse to where the .tax2021 file is on your hard drive. Select the .tax2021 file, then click Open to transfer it.
Did you use TurboTax Online for 2021? If so, you have to download the .tax2021 file from TurboTax Online to your computer in order to transfer the information from it.
