2022 Amended Tax Return - Take Action message

Hello

I amended my 2022 Tax Refund and for some reason I decided to physically mail it in instead of efiling. IRS has received it on Sept 29, 2023 and when I checked it today (after 16 weeks) the Status shows 'Take Action ' and additionally it says 'Your amended return was received but it has not been processed'. And it gives me a number to call.

Wondering if it means that it is just that they havent gotten to it? Never ever physically filed a return before so wondering what is my next step.

If it asks you to call, they may need more information.  Once it is done processing, the status will change.
