I have desktop 2020 Turbotax. It includes Federal e-filing. When e-filing does turbotax directly connect to treasury computers or does go thru an intermediary such as Intuit? TIA

I use Desktop, too. It is my understanding that our e-filed returns go directly to the IRS. I do know that a Desktop return is NOT saved on TurboTax servers. These returns are saved only to your computer's hard drive or another device you've used to backup your files.
Thanks Kat. I've been using turbotax since the DOS days. I think inuit people need to answer my questions.
@L12345 I understand. I'll post this where TurboTax Moderators will be able to see it and hopefully respond today.
I am very surprised that nobody from Intuit has even attempted to answer this very simple question. It leads me to believe that it is going thru a third party either intuit or somebody else. It seems that intuit is not responding because they don't want people to panic that intuit is collecting their information.
@L12345 Maybe this will help. Screenshot from TurboTax website.
