I am trying to start my 2020 taxes. I have used Turbotax previously. I can't seem to get started like in previous years.
You'll need to sign in or create an account to connect with an expert.
It is too late to do your 2020 taxes online with TurboTax. You can purchase and install the desktop version to a Windows or MAC computer. E-file is also closed, so you will need to print, sign and mail your returns.
When you print your return to mail there will be a list of all documents to enclose with the return. There will also be addresses to mail the return to. It is best to use a certified mail service so you will have a record of when the return was received.
If you owe taxes, you will also be accessed a late filing penalty. If you are getting a return, there is no penalty for filing late.
Sorry it's too, late to start an online return, either on Turbo Tax or the IRS.
To do a prior year return you have to buy the Desktop program here,
https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/past-years-products/
You will need a full Windows or Mac to install it on.
If you have a simple return and want to file for free you can fill out the forms by hand. Here are some basic forms.....
Here is the 2020 1040 return

or if you want bigger type use 1040SR for Seniors,

Don’t forget your state. And you will have to print and mail your returns. So be sure to attach copies of your W2s and any 1099s that have withholding on them. You have to mail federal and state in separate envelopes because they go to different places. Get a tracking number from the post office when you mail them for proof of filing.
