2017 8962 Must Be Filed: Have 2017 1095-A completed which IRS mailed me

I did not use TurboTax in 2017 for my 2017 tax filing. The IRS wants me to complete my 2017 Form 8962 which was too complicated for me to complete. The IRS recently mailed me my completed 2017 1095-A and a 2017 Form 8962 to be completed. How can I utilize TurboTax to complete this 2017 Form 8962 since I did the 2017 1040 tax form myself?. TurboTax does not have my 2017 tax information.

I spoke with Melanie from TurboTax this morning (9.3.19) and I clicked the links she emailed me but still cannot figure out this 2017 Form 8962 tax problem. PLease advise...Mitchell Witt

I don't think you can use TurboTax to prepare only one individual form, especially considering the fact that you didn't use TT to prepare your 2017 return.

I'll link you to the instructions for 2018 form 8962, which may assist you in preparing your 2017 form.

It shouldn't be too difficult to create a dummy tax return with 2017 TurboTax sufficient to prepare Form 8962.  Either fully recreate your 2017 tax return in TurboTax if it's a simple tax return or instead just enter your personal information and a W-2 with an amount in box 1 equal to the modified AGI that must appear on Form 8962 line 2a.  This is generally the AGI from your filed tax return, but it might require modification as indicated on Worksheet 1-1 in the instructions for Form 8962:

 You can then just go through the Health Insurance section of 2017 TurboTax and complete that section normally, entering the details of your Form 1095-A.  Finally, switch to forms mode, open Form 8962 and print the form.

Adding to @dmertz's response, you'll need to purchase the software for TurboTax 2017, download and install it on your computer....if you haven't done so already.
