I purchased download of TT Home and Business as usual except this year for a Max instead of Windows. For the windows version, I printed 1099s for the businesses of some of my friends and church and just printed them and mailed them in. With the Mac, I have to use QEF and file them electronically. Can I file for multiple entities? I do this as a favor and not as a business. Is the efiling of 1099s free?

Have your friends get the forms for FREE in the mail from the IRS or buy them at the office supply store.

Not really wanting to hand write them. I’ve always been able to print them from desktop version on windows. Just trying to find out if I can do that with the Quick Employment Forms you have to use for Mac version.
You should be able to issue 1099 forms for multiple entities if you create separate accounts for each one. TurboTax Home and Business allows up to 5 federal e-files, so you could use 5 different accounts to e-file the forms with no extra fees. Please see this TurboTax FAQ here for more information.
