Cant update income on 1099R.  system says waiting on IRS updates...

To update your 1099-R when it is otherwise not responding, try deleting it and re-adding it. To do this in TurboTax, follow these steps:

 

To delete it,

  • Go to your search box and enter 1099-R and select the Jump to link.
  • At the 1099-R Entries screen, select the trash can icon next to the 1099-R you need to change and follow the prompts.

To re-add it,

  • Select +Add Another 1099-R and proceed through the entry screens.
    • If your financial institution is not available, you can proceed by typing it in yourself if you have a copy of the form.

Turbo tax Says the retirement income area will be ready soon

The IRS is still finishing up this area, and will be updated soon. 

It's March 10th...when will it be ready?

The section for entering a Form 1099-R has been available for almost two months.  The Form 8915-E for a Covid-19 related withdrawal has been available for almost two weeks.

 

What TurboTax program are you using, the online web-based editions or the desktop software installed o a personal computer?  If on a computer is it Windows or a Mac?

Turbotax Premier on Windows desktop.

I have updated Turbotax every time I opened it up, and I still get that message

I installed this on my desk top with a CD. I have used Turbo Tax for years.

It sounds like your program needs updating.    If it does not update and is Windows then see:
