1099CN unemployment

So my 1099C cancellation of debt will that be money that I will owe to the IRS?

did not file for bankruptcy or anything like that.

I only had  federal taxes taken out of my unemployment once in California.

would I be getting my 600 stimulus or would that have to be paid for those two questions above?

1099CN unemployment

If you received a 1099C for Cancellation of Debt, that will be reported as income and you will pay tax on the amount of canceled debt.

If you did not receive one or both of the stimulus payments, you will include the Recovery Rebate Credit on your return to get the missing stimulus.

Everything calculates together.  Your total income will be determined by your amount of unemployment plus the cancellation of debt.  Tax will be calculated on that income.  The taxes you had withheld from your unemployment will be applied to your total tax.

Any rebate recovery amount will either be applied to the remaining amount of tax due or refunded.  Each situation is unique.
