Where is the 1099- NEC supposed to show up? I have it under the business i work for, but it made a separate box for self employment, and that is where it shows my amount made, not in the business box info.

It belongs in Self-Employment - which is part of ''business'' income.    The income from your employer from a W-2 will show as wages.   Income from a 1099-NEC will transfer to Schedule C, which reports Self-Employment income.
