1099-NEC Quick Employer Forms

Hello,

I just submitted to e-file my first 1099-NEC.  It states e-file processing, and I was wondering if this means for both the federal AND state, or just federal?  The only answer I've seen is that NJ (my state) "supports quick books e-filing" but I am not using that software, just the turbo tax software for the taxes and now this one 1099 I need to create/file.

If this didn't e-file to NJ, do I need to print out something different and mail it?  Appreciate the guidance!

You can check QB Support or contact QB for the NJ filing. TurboTax uses QuickBooks for forms to assist you. NJ income should be reported to NJ.

Thanks for your response, however, I am still unclear as to how I should move forward.  I stayed only on Turbo Tax's website, but was QB used even though I did not navigate out of Turbo Tax?

Really what I need to know is if the submission on Turbo Tax means that the 1099 is submitted only federally, or is it forwarded to the state as well?  I am seeing conflicting information from different Turbo Tax pages.

Here's some info from Quick Employer Forms FAQs:

I have electronically filed. Now do I have to mail or submit anything to my state?

After e-filing, be sure to check your state's website for W-2 or 1099 reporting requirements. Each state's requirements vary, and most don't require the forms be submitted. You can use your desired search engine to find for your state web address to find details. Here's a link for How to Contact your State Dept of Revenue

You don't need to mail anything to the IRS or SSA after e-filing with Intuit Quick Employer Forms Accountant.

More details from Quick Employer Forms.

If your TurboTax and QuickBooks accounts have the same Sign In, they can link to get your QB data.
