my brother and his wife both received a 1099 misc from the lodge they belong to. They clean the lodge after events. It's not a business but just a way to make money. The program is asking for a business name. how else can it be recorded?

A 1099-misc with an amount in box 7 requires a Sch C since that is self employment income. You can use your name as a business name.
