Tax Year Prior to 2020: 1099-misc "The Giver"

I gave someone a 1099-misc, where do I put that on my tax information? Or do I? Thank you!

It would be entered as Contract Labor in the Business Expenses area.

How to get to the area to enter your business expenses  While inside the software and working on your return, type Schedule C in the Search at the top of the screen (you may see a magnifying glass there).  There will be a popup that says Jump to Schedule C.  Select that to get to the general area.

Then:

  • select Edit next to your business (if it is there)
  • scroll to Business Expenses
  • then Select one of the following, depending on what expenses you are entering: Other Common Business
  • Contract Labor will show up in that area as you go through the screens
