1099-Misc for teaching at a summer camp and turbo tax wants to create a self employed schedule "C" which is not the case in her situation. How do I enter this income

Actually, if this income was reported in box 7 (nonemployee compensation) of Form 1099-Misc, it is considered income from self-employment and needs to be reported on Schedule C or the return.

You'll enter it by typing "1099-misc income" into the search box and clicking on the "Jump to" link in the search results. You'll then following the screen prompts to enter this income.  The benefit of reporting this on Schedule C is that any expenses of this activity can be used to offset the income.
