My daughter's 1098 T has box 5of $9500  and no payment in box 1 because I paid it in Dec 2020. For 1998 T 2020 box 7 is checked which means amount in box 1( includes an amount for jan- March 2021. Can I carry the amount I paid in dec 2020 for 2021 so my daughter doesn't need to report the $9500 as income on her taxes?

If your daughter has a 2021 1098 T, she will need to report Box 5 income this year because this is what the IRS has on file.
