1095A and 8962 Efiling

I have a 1095A for the marketplace health insurance for myself, husband and daughter, she is on our plan but not a dependent as she is 21 and works.  Anyway, I did the 0% allocation on her taxes and putting 100% allocation on ours as instructed, when I go to Efile there are six errors on the Shared Policy Allocation Worksheet - all saying 1095A worksheet is linked to business related premiums (husbands business) and I can't efile - is this a glitch, so I need to print and send snail mail - is there a way around this, any info appreciated. Using the desktop CD version of home and business TT.

This is not a glitch.  Shared policy allocations on the Form 1095-A linked to self-employment income is not supported in TurboTax.  Meaning, the software cannot perform the appropriate calculations for this.  You will need to review your tax return in Forms Mode and make any necessary adjustments or changes to the forms manually.  Yes, you will need to mail your tax return to the IRS.

Wait, so you found this problem in 2018, and didn't think to correct it?

I have the exact same question! I already paid for the efile and now it won't file. The only way to remove the error is to remove my son, but not sure if that will get rejected.

Hey Turbo Tax...this makes it worse...I want a refund because I'm going over to HR Block.

The above comment is not true. You CAN still efile.

To correct this issue follow these steps:

1. Delete the 1095A and reenter it but do NOT select the self employed option as that will cause errors with the shared policy worksheet.

2. Go to your business section and add the premiums that you paid out of pocket under Other Common Business Expenses. You will see a place to enter the health insurance premiums in there. Normally you would not enter marketplace premiums here as it would flow to this spot from the 8962 but since the worksheet doesnt support shared policies with self employment you will just enter them manually in the Other Common Expenses section.
