Hello just have a question, i created a trust in illinois but i moved to DC. Should i file a state return in DC or illinois

What type of trust?

If this is a grantor trust (aka revocable living trust), for example, where you are the grantor, trustee, and beneficiary, then you can use an optional method of filing where you do not have to file a 1041.
