0/0/0 dates when importing from Quicken

This error message has been appearing for years, if not decades. It conveys no information to the user.

Do I need to worry about it, or can I ignore it? If I need to take some kind of action, what is it? And if anyone could explain exactly what this really means, I'd appreciate it.

This is QWin R36.57.

yes, they are important. evidently, some security sales or purchases don't have a valid date. Normally this will prevent e-filing unless corrected.

Wait and import directly from the broker's 1099-B when it becomes available in late February or March.

This is the obvious first guess, but it's incorrect. There are no invalid dates in my Quicken data.

I suspect there are some empty fields somewhere that TT is incorrectly interpreting as dates.

I will certainly do this. I was just hoping to see a preview.

Further digging reveals an apparent TT bug.

I have a security named COHEN & STEERS PREF SEC&INC A. I did not sell any shares during 2021.

I have a reinvested long term capital gain of $892.01 which TT is erroneously reporting as a sale. This is the only occurrence of $892.01 in this account.

Below see the transaction in Quicken and TT's treatment of it. The security name is truncated before the first "&" character and the dates and holding period are pretty empty in pink indicating an error.

Do NOT try to import from Quicken until after the first and then only import from the broker directly to avoid any issues.

Also Quicken is no longer an Intuit program so the imported information could be done incorrectly.  It is up to the user to always review all imported information.
