I'd say there's nothing for you to worry about if you've always filed your taxes regularly in the past. If you haven't done that there may be reason to worry. The reason the IRS needs to hire many new agents is to reduce the backlog of un-processed tax returns, get refunds out faster and also to be able to make tax evaders pay their fair share. I cannot speak for the IRS as to the training of their agents, but I'm sure they do well in that regard. Nothing for law abiding citizens to worry about.
