Sale of a secondary residence. home painting was recommended by sale agent and was completed 1 month before sale for $10K. can i claim this as an expense? thank you

Yes, you would show the sales price, then selling expenses (which includes costs of getting ready for sale -painting, sales commission, closing costs. etc) and the the cost basis of the home sold to determine any gain or loss.

Yes, you would show the sales price, then selling expenses (which includes costs of getting ready for sale -painting, sales commission, closing costs. etc) and the the cost basis of the home sold to determine any gain or loss.
