Are there deductions for working from home such as internet expense, space in the home, utilities portion etc.?
You'll need to sign in or create an account to connect with an expert.
It depends. Are you an employee who receives a W-2 or are you a self-employed independent contractor or a sole proprietor?
If you are an employee then your employee business expenses are not deductible on a federal tax return due to the tax code changes in effect for tax years 2018 thru 025.
If you are an independent contractor, or self employed you may be able to write off a home office. This would include the things you listed above.
However, if you are a W-2 employee you will not get this tax break.
Please see the TurboTax article Tax Tips for Employees Who Work at Home.
If you are self-employed, you can reference the IRS article Home Office Deduction at a Glance.
