Why must I upgrade to Deluxe if dividends are less than $1,500 and don't require Schedule B? Eligible for Form 1040.

I've entered all my information and TurboTax has reviewed everything, and am eligible for Form 1040, but it will not let me go further as it is requiring me to upgrade to Deluxe; it will not allow me to use free edition -- due to having received $57.00 of dividends. Elsewhere on the TurboTax website I have read:

"a Schedule B is only necessary when you receive more than $1,500 of taxable interest or dividends." Oct 16, 2024; and "If the interest earned is $1,500 or less, no Schedule B is required and you can use the Free edition." Is this true and, if so, how do I bypass the requirement to upgrade? Again, the 1099-DIV was for only $57.00 and I am eligible for Form 1040 with no Schedule B required . Thank you.

I figured this out, and it was my misunderstanding. I thought Schedule B (and the $1,500.00 minimum) was for dividends alone, but I now see that it can include other taxable interest income. When I temporarily deleted the dividend income, I was still prompted to upgrade -- so I then temporarily dropped the taxable income to below $1,500.00 and the Free version was available to me. So yes, I DO need to upgrade, because of having over $1,500.00 taxable interest. I appreciate your patience.
