If you are filing an Indiana state return, that is a question that comes up for any property owner just in case your property is located in Lake County, Indiana.

There is no indication of a property in Lake County tied to your name, so no worries about identity theft.  It's just a question that TurboTax is asking so that those that do own property in Lake County can claim the residential income tax credit.

Doesn't matter if you live in it or not. Property taxes would still be assessed, due and payable by the owner of that property (you I presume) every year, by the taxing authority - usually the county the property is located in.

I do not own and have never owned any property in Lake County?  Should I be concerned of identity theft at this point?  I am assuming because that came up as one of the questions asked that this property is tied to me in some way?  Correct me if I am wrong.
