Why EIC was claimed without the child being a dependent or CTC?
You could be eligible for the Earned Income Credit without claiming the child as a dependent if you indicated that the child lived with you for more than half the year and you provided more than half the household costs. You then be able to claim EIC and the Child Care Credit but not the dependency exemption or the Child Tax Credit.
