Where do I claim donations to a scholarship fund?

If the scholarship fund is authorized by the IRS to accept tax-deductible donations, you enter it like any other donation to a charity. In TurboTax Online, click the Search button at the top and enter "donations" (without the quotes) in the search box. Click the magnifying glass, then click the link that says "Jump to donations." The fund can tell you whether they have authorization from the IRS to accept tax-deductible donations.

Charitable donations are an itemized deduction. The deduction will not make any difference in your tax or your refund unless your total itemized deductions are more than your standard deduction.
