It's not a problem, it's a "feature."

This year the Intuit Evil Marketing Geniuses have changed the rules: you can't enter any expenses associated with Schedule C income without upgrading to TurboTax Self Employed if you use an online version, even if you meet the IRS's rules that would allow you to use a Schedule C-EZ, a Schedule that's actually supported by versions below Self Employed.

You pay the differential between where you're at - assuming you already have paid - and where you end up.  ("State" is extra to the prices shown.)

If you haven't paid then it could be cheaper to simply go out and purchase a desktop product - they are widely discounted by Amazon an other - since the desktop products all support the same Forms, Schedules and Worksheets.
