What do I do when I own my home & don't have a mortgage company but Turbo Tax is asking for my mortgage co?

There are two ways to remove this Mortgage from your TurboTax program:

1.  You will go to the Mortgage Interest - 1098 entry and delete:

Go to the Federal section.

Select Deductions and Credits.

Select Your Home.

The first choice in this section is Mortgage Interest, Refinancing and Interest (1098).

At this point you may see a Mortgage Deduction Summary.  If there is an entry, select to delete on the far-right side.

2.  If there is nothing showing in this section, you can delete the information as follows:

Select Tax Tools on right side of page.

Choose Tools.

Choose Delete a Form

Find 1098 and all worksheets attached to it, select Delete.

As a step to be sure the form has been deleted, run through step 4 once more to be sure that form was deleted as well as any related worksheets.
