We purchased a new home and replaced our windows, does the window replacement at our old house in prior years count against our credit now?

Yes, it does count.  The cumulative maximum tax credits for windows, doors, and skylights for all years combined is $500.  It is based on per/year, not per/residence.

The specific lifetime credit for windows and skylights is $200.  <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="https://www.energystar.gov/products/building_products/residential_windows_doors_and_skylights/tax_cr...>

Thanks, Bill.  My reply is direct from the EnergyStar site, but I see it would also cover the response in yours (e.g., if you had $500 in door credits, nothing is left for windows.)
