I am having a very difficult time with the HSA/MSA section of TurboTax this year. I would like to start from scratch on this section only. Is there anyway to quickly delete the entire section (Form 8889-S and 8889-T) and start from scratch? Once I am able to do that, I'll ask my next question ....which is this:
I have an HSA and HDHP and spouse and kids are covered under my plan. For me, I put Family HDHP and HSA, for my spouse....I put none for HSA and non for HDHP. Is that correct?

*** first question ***
The safest - although brute force - way to reset your HSA information is to do the following:
1. make a copy of your W-2(s) (if you don't have the paper copies)
2. delete your W-2(s) (use the garbage can icon next to the W-2(s) on the Income screen
*** Desktop***
3. go to View (at the top), choose Forms, and select the desired form. Note the Delete Form button at the bottom of the screen.
*** Online ***
3. go to Tax Tools (on the left), and navigate to Tools->Delete a form
4. delete form(s) 1099-SA (if one), 8889-T, and 8889-S (if one)
5. go back and re-add your W-2(s), preferably adding them manually
6. go back and redo the entire HSA interview.
***second question***
If your spouse does not have her own HSA, then, yes, you indicate an HSA for you and none for her on the opening screen of the HSA interview. And you clearly have a Family HDHP plan.
Normally, you would indicate when asked that your spouse has Family HDHP coverage (as she does), but there is one place where you should answer "none" for her:
When going through the questions, you will get to a screen entitled
"What type of High Deductible Health Plan did [spouse] have on December 1st
2016?" (see screenshot below). If your spouse was covered under
your health insurance plan, then you should select "none" not
"family or self-only." You are selecting none because your spouse
does not have their own coverage, they are covered under your
plan. If you select one of the other options, then you will get the
notification about a coverage lapse.
