SST Over payment credit

I'm surprised, I made a mistake on entering a W2, in the drop down I indicated the W2 belonged to my wife instead of me, however, all the information in the W2 had my info, SSAN, name, etc. I can't believe Turbotax let me file with a miss-match like that.  It of course was caught by the IRS because we got a credit for overpayment of SST.  Keeping me from making stupid mistakes is why I've been a customer since the 90's.  In 54 years of filing taxes this is my first mistake (At least caught, lol)

Ok ... the DIY program does alert you that you may have an issue if it detects possible  excess SS  ... failure for you to review the entries and make the correction is not a fault of the program.  If you transferred in the 2019 info into the 2020 program then you may also have the same issue if you did not catch the miss match.
