Refund rejected
If you've verified this dependent's SSN and found no errors, unfortunately you need to file a paper return.

Refund rejected
if the return was rejected for invalid SSNs as opposed to SSNs being used on a return already filed, you are going to have to contact the Social Security Administration to verify their SSNs. if they're correct, then the IRS has incorrect info for them and the SSA will have to contact the IRS to update their records. how long this will take is unknown. filing your return with what the IRS thinks are invalid SSNs will result in the IRS removing those dependents and any credits. you would also lose Head of Household filing status. on the other hand if the return was rejected because the SSNs were used on another's return you can file by mail. use a method where you'll get proof of delivery. if you are due a refund it will probably be delayed because of this.
