Refi question 1098

I have same error message as Kentucky738571 who posted last week when running review and check return.  I posted in that thread yesterday but have not received a response from a tax expert or BrittanyS, the tax expert who was helping Kentucky738571 with a TurboTax mortgage interest worksheet error I also have. I am reposting what I wrote in that thread as a new question, hoping to get a response.

The review and check asks me to indicate refi yes no or blank on my two mortgage interest 1098's worksheet for my 2020 loan which was also transferred to another company during 2024.  Neither is a refi for my home loan originated in 2020. Line A on the worksheet for the older 1098, not most recent, is checked that it was refinanced in 2024. It was not refinanced, only transferred, and I answered the step-by-step questions that it was not refinanced.  I am inclined to ignore this worksheet error that does not affect the forms to be filed.

Is your concern only that that mortgage worksheet has the refi box checked for the original mortgage? Are you getting the interest deduction you expected? If so, I'm thinking the box is checked so that the program will treat it as a refinance to avoid calculating the interest as if you had two separate mortgages on your home; a mortgage plus a HELOC for example. The mortgage balance averaging and interest deduction calculation are the same for a refinance as for a mortgage transfer.
