State tax deduction on Federal form

I paid $5000 in May 2021 with my State tax extension for 2020, when my income came in higher than anticipated. Does this count as a Federal deduction for 2020?

No, it's a deduction for 2021, the year it was actually paid, not the year the tax was incurred.

No.  For 2021 deduction when you paid it.  So next year.
