Spouse on Individual non-HDHP plan from employer...Little confusion on what is allowed by IRS

questions on what is allowed by IRS when Spouse has her own medical plan.

1) I am on HDHP plan (Family with wife+ kids) from my employer. Spouse is on a individual non-hdhp plan with her employer. But she is secondary on mine. IS this allowed by IRS. I am making contribution to HSA as family.

I understand her plan would be primary. But any clarification on this would be helpful. Thanks

You can contribute $7,000 ($8,000 if age 55 or over) to your HSA and use withdrawals to pay for your and her and your child’s qualified medical expenses.  It’s OK for her to use her coverage as primary insurance for herself.
