No, you do not need to enter any information in the mortgage interest section if you have no mortgage or Form 1098.
Use the following steps to enter your property taxes paid instead of entering the property tax with the mortgage information:
The mortgage questions are still a problem in TurboTax Premier 2020 Online. TT kept insisting I fill out information about a mortgage, even though my home has been paid off for years. (It knew I had no mortgage last year so congratulated me on my "new home.") Finally, I entered the lender as "No mortgage," entered 0 in all the fields where it insisted on an amount, and entered a mortgage start date of 01/01/1900. Finally, the Review button went away. There should be a way to state that I have no mortgage.
If you are getting requests for a form that you do not have it is probably because it carried over from last year.
There are two ways to clear entries from your return.
The first thing to try is to go into the section that has the form (Less Common Income)
To Delete a form:
Always use extreme caution when deleting from your tax return. There could be unintended consequences.
