I do not have financial account in a foreign country, but when I get to the end of filling out my information, it does not save how I input it.

First, try this removal method, if you haven't already:

  1. Select Tax Home in the left pane
  2. On the Hi, let's keep working on your taxes! screen, select the dropdown on the right side of the Other Tax Situations box, then select Start, Continue or Pick up where you left off
  3. On the  Your uncommon tax situations page, scroll down and select the dropdown to the right of Other Tax Forms
  4. Select  Start or Revisit to the right of Prepare a report on foreign financial assets
  5. On the  Foreign Financial Assets screen, select No, then Continue

If this doesn't solve your issue:

  1. In the left pane, select the dropdown to the right of Tax Tools
  2. Select  Tools
  3. In the pop-up window Tools Center, select Delete a form
  4. Select Delete next to Form 8938

I am facing the same issue. I followed the steps you mentioned, and after clicking 'continue', it is not saving my answer. I even tried to delete the form, but i don't see any form 8938 in my list?

FYI...i even tried different browser, to make sure there is no cache isue.

First check to see if you have a 1099 INT or 1099 DIV.  If there is a foreign tax-paid amount reported in Box 6 of a 1099 INT or Box 7 in your 1099 DIV, then you may have a foreign account that you aren't aware of. There are follow-up questions in those forms that you need to complete.

I checked Box 6 of 1099 INT and it's empty, so i am not sure why it is not saving my selection.

This is what worked for me.

When i tried to delete the form, i don't see any form 8938 in my list, so i deleted Schedule B form, which in-turn deleted 1099-INT and 1099-DIV forms. After that it asked me that foreign assets question again and this time it saved my answer and i was able to move forward.

Thanks all for pointers.
