If you qualify for earned income credit the software adds it to your refund automatically after you enter the income you earned and the information for the dependents you are claiming.

If you are referring to the changed EIC per the newly passed tax law---that goes into effect for your 2021 tax return ---next year.

You can use the free filing from the IRS website.
Ordinarily, you must have "earned" income to qualify for the credit.
Earned income is W-2's, Schedule C (Business), etc.
Interest, social security, retirement income, etc don't qualify as "earned".
consult the instructions for Form 1040 they lay it out really well
All the tax prep software companies do a really good job of alerting you if you qualify.
