How come the 'show me the breakdown of my itemized deduction " does not show my charitable giving?

I made a charitable giving of 14000 more than the standard deduction and it is not show up on the "Show me the breakdown of my itemized Deduction" section of the "based on what you just told us the Standard deduction is best for you section""

Based on what you said, it is allowing the Standard Deduction.  You should go back to Deductions and Credits section of the return and check each item that you entered.  Remember you are only allowed $10,000.00 maximum for Taxes on Schedule A.  If that seems correct, then delete the Charitable Contributions and re-enter and work all the way through to the end and hit Done.

 

The state and local tax (SALT) deduction permits taxpayers who itemize when filing federal taxes to deduct certain taxes paid to state and local governments. The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act capped it at $10,000 per year, consisting of property taxes plus state income or sales taxes, but not both.

it seems to be caping my charitable donations.

Most charitable contributions are limited to a total of 60% of your income. You can learn more about that here:
