Yes, but your employer must adopt that change in order for you to take full advantage of it.

 

Here is an excerpt from the IRS overview of the tax changes due to the American Rescue Plan and an link to the document:

 

Workers can set aside more in a Dependent Care FSA

 

For 2021, the maximum amount of tax-free employer-provided dependent care benefits increased from $5,000 to $10,500. This means that an employee can set aside $10,500 in a dependent care FSA, if their employer has one, instead of the normal $5,000.

Workers can only do that if their employer adopts this change. Interested employees should contact their employer for details.

@AnnetteB6 Thank you. This is very helpful. So I would assume if each of our employers (mine and spouse) both still only allow the $5000 max, we could each put in$5000 to get to a total of $10,000 for 2021, correct?
