why is the form asking for an EIN?

For a self-employed business that has always used SS ID,

You know you don't have to enter each 1099NEC.  Actually I would just enter your total income as Other self employment income or as Cash or General income.  You don't need to get a 1099NEC or 1099Misc or 1099K.  Even if you did you can enter all your income as Cash.  Only the total goes to schedule C.  And you should be keeping track of your own income and entering it from your records.  

 

I would delete that 1099NEC.

You can switch to Forms mode and delete it there.  I think for Mac Click on Forms in the upper left?

You don't need an EIN unless you pay employees.   Or if you are entering a 1099NEC and the payer has one.   Exactly where are you that it wants one?  Can you post a screen shot?   Maybe it's asking if you want to get one?
