hi, i was wondering why my 13 year old daughter didn't receive the child tax credit on July 15.. Is it because my income tax hasn't been processed yet, because i file online in Feb. On the 27th..i amended it also. My direct deposit information is on file.

There are several reasons why you may have not received the advanced payment.  The IRS is reporting a backlog of over 35 million returns that need to be processed.  This is causing significant delays in people receiving their refunds and the advanced payment of the child tax credit.

You can see if you are enrolled to receive these payments (and update your information) using the Child Tax Credit Update Portal at:

https://www.irs.gov/credits-deductions/child-tax-credit-update-portal

If you do not receive any advanced payments, you will be able to claim the missing amount on your 2021 tax return.

If you are due a refund for your 2020 taxes, you may want to check the status of the refund at:

https://www.irs.gov/refunds
