Are origination charges the same as points? If so do I include all charges listed on contract under origination charges?

Yes, origination charges are the same as points. They are included on lines 801 and 802 on the  (HUD) statement.  Other closing documents may have different lines... And yes, you do include the amounts as your deduction.

If you paid at the closing, it should be also included on your 1098 form... What is the name of the document that you are looking at? It must be a "closing" type of the statement, not just contract...

It is a closing statement not a HUD form. Sorry I didn't clarify. Thank you for answering.
