Only if you report the full price as taxable income. Otherwise, you have less income because of the deduction so you pay less tax. You can't take an additional deduction from income you didn't get.

Can someone verify that there are no tax consequnces. I lost my home in a house fire just over a month ago. The insurance proceeds and the sale of the property are high
