My child was born August 25, 2016. I have read that he does not qualify for the EIC or the Child Tax Credit. Is there any exemptions for this?

I have had conversations with others who have been in this situation and they seemed to earn one of these.

For a child born in 2016 you have to say that the child lived with you the WHOLE YEAR so that you get the personal exemption and any credits you qualify for.
