My adult son lives with me and has no income other than my support. Is the money that I pay for his health insurance and medical expenses deductible?

He (I) also buys legitimate medications, but without a prescription.  Is that deductible?

It sounds like you will be able to claim him as a dependent.  That would let you enter his medical expenses, including the cost of health insurance, into Deductions & Credits.  Most people do not end up getting a tax benefit from medical expenses since there are limitations.  But put in the numbers and let TurboTax figure it out.

Non-prescription medicines that are recommended by a doctor to treat a specific condition count, but not the federally illegal ones...if you know what I mean.
