Can my ex wife deduct mortgage interest for 2021 if she moved out of the house in 2020? Plus she is not on the loan, only the deed, 1098 is in my name only.

I thought the house has to be your primary or a second home in order to take this deduction.

Who actually made the 2021 mortgage payments?

She contributed 25% of mortgage each month, but not directly as part of the payment. I collected it in bulk when we sold the house in January 2022.

I’m also confused by the primary/second home situation. Clearly, it was neither for her.
