MAGI for 1095-A's and Itemizing Deductions to Deduct Health Care Premiums

We received two 1095-A's because the ACA switched our policies when I reported my husband's raise. My daughter got a job in October of last year. Do I put her MAGI in the interview for both 1095A's, or just the one that is for October through December?

Also, can we itemize deductions and deduct our monthly premiums? If so, how do I do that?

Thank you!

MAGI for 1095-A's and Itemizing Deductions to Deduct Health Care Premiums

Is your daughter your dependent on your tax return?  Does she have "taxable income" listed on line 25 of her Form 1040?

If both are "yes", then I *THINK* you only enter her MAGI once.  If either (or both) of those questions are "no", you don't enter her income at all.

The last I checked, TurboTax automatically put the proper amount for the 1095-A on your Itemized Medical Expenses.  So you don't need to enter it again.

Can someone verify this? And, I'm using her MAGI, not her taxable income. Am I supposed to use her taxable income?

What part do you need verified?

You can look at line 2b on Form 8962 to confirm your dependent's MAGI.

You can go through the Medical section or look at line 1 of Schedule A to see the medical expenses.

You enter MAGI, not "taxable income".  But you only enter MAGI *IF* she has "taxable income".
