Is the purchase of academic regalia (cap, gown, and hood) a deductible item? We are required to go and to wear this at graduations and convocations.

Yes, this could be considered work clothes if you are a college professor and required to wear these items for your job. They are not suitable for wear outside of work.

These are not deductible for graduating students.
