Did you enter the credit on your tax return using Form 8936? Is there an amount on Schedule 3 Line 6f? The amount from Schedule 3 Line 8 flows to the Form 1040 Line 20. Is there an amount on Line 20?
If your tax liability is Zero the credit will not be used and any remaining credit does not carry forward to the next tax year.
To access your current or prior year online tax returns sign onto the TurboTax website with the User ID you used to create the account - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/
Scroll down to the bottom of the screen and on the section Your tax returns & documents. Click on the Year and Click on Download/print return (PDF)

When you sign onto your online account and land on the Tax Home web page, scroll down and click on Add a state.
This will take you back to the 2023 online tax return.
Click on Tax Tools on the left side of the online program screen. Then click on Print Center. Then click on Print, save or preview this year's return. Choose the option Include government and TurboTax worksheets
Note - If the amount on Line 5 of the Form 8936 is more than $150,000 ($300,000 if married filing jointly, $225,000 if Head of Household) you cannot claim the credit.
