Insurance Premiums for Retired Public Safety Officers

I recently learned of a reduction to taxable pension income that I am eligible for as a retired public safety officer, but have already filed my Federal income tax.  I am seeking information on how to file an amended return that reflects this change.  Per IRS Publication 575, I have to enter the reduced amount of taxable retirement income at line 5b , and enter "PSO" in the space next to the box.  I don't see a way to make the change at line 5b of the 1040-SR in TurboTax desktop.  Any idea of how to amend the 1040-SR manually?

In your amendment, this is how you enter the $3,000 exclusion.

In TurboTax Online, please follow these steps:

  1. After you have entered your form 1099-R, continue the questionnaire until you arrive at a page titled Do any of these situations apply to you?
  2. Put a check mark next to This money is from being a Public Safety Officer and click Continue
  3. On the next page, click on the box Yes, money was taken out to pay for Health Insurance
  4. On the next page, enter an amount up to $3,000 and click Continue
  5. The amount will be excluded from taxation.
